Easter Holidays

On the Easter holidays I went to Adelaide and while I was there I watched Collingwood play Geelong on TV on Easter Thursday night. Unfortunately for Collingwood they were beaten by a very good Geelong side but put up a fight all through the game. The final score was 122-95. The Pies rebounded nicely from the loss though, the next week overcoming the Brisbane Lions 90-73 in a very good game of football. This week the Magpies are playing arguably the biggest game of the home and away fixture, the Anzac Day blockbuster against Essendon on Saturday. It is expected to be a sellout.

Collingwood to bring in 3 new inclusions

Collingwood Magpies have brought in 3 new players for their round two clash against the Melbourne Demons. Heath Shaw comes back into the side after a long time out through suspension and a hamstring complaint. Alongside him, Leigh Brown, the veteran recruited from the Kangaroos will play his first game in the Black and White , while Brad Dick returns to the side after recovering from an injury to his knee. Tyson Goldsack, Chris Bryan and Ben Reid have been omitted from the side after the disappointing 4 point loss to the Adelaide Crows in round 1. Collingwood play Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday. The Pies are currently sitting in 9th place on the AFL ladder.

Review of Cameron's blog- The Vines

Cameron has created an interesting blog on the Vines, the musical group. If you like the Vines or are interested in them or their music, this is the site to be looking at. Cameron has included information about the band itself and where they are based. He also tells us about each person in the band and what musical instrument they play. He tells us about the original name of the band and why they changed names. Cameron also includes information about the Vines debut album and tells us what songs are on the CD. He also has some information about another band, Nirvana on his blog. This blog is coming along nicely and looks nice and has well written content. Well done Cameron. Collingwood Ready for Season Start

The magpies are raring to go after a solid pre season, in which they won three out of four games. The players are at their peak with their fitness and skill level and are confident of going a long way this year. Club captain Nick Maxwell said they would have liked to win the NAB Cup but they are moving on and focusing on finals footy. He said Collingwood would need a bit of luck with injuries this year and if that happens they can be expected to be in it right up until the end. Sean Rusling, Anthony Rocca and Paul Medhurst are doing well with their injuries and should be ready to go very soon, possibly by round one. Their memembership numbers are currently at 37,286. The club is hoping to get to 50,000 members.
